
On March 23, 2025, Faculdade EBRAMEC (which stands for Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine 巴西中医学院) wrote a new chapter in the history of Chinese Medicine in Brazil by hosting the first-ever graduation ceremony for the Acupuncture Undergraduate Program authorized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The event brought together graduates, professors, authorities, and special guests to celebrate the realization of a dream and the beginning of a new era for Acupuncture in the country.
The graduation ceremony of the first class of Acupuncture undergraduates is a milestone not only for Faculdade EBRAMEC but for the entire Chinese Medicine community in Brazil. It is a recognition of years of dedication to teaching and researching Acupuncture, ensuring that we are on the right path to training highly qualified professionals committed to public health and well-being.

Honored Guests for a Memorable Night
Faculdade EBRAMEC’s auditorium in Sao Paulo became the stage for an unforgettable moment, filled with emotions, recognition, and inspiring speeches. Family members, friends, professors, and authorities gathered to celebrate the achievement of 40 graduates, who are now prepared to carry forward the ancient knowledge of Acupuncture and contribute to the health and well-being of the Brazilian population.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony:
- Prof. Dr. Reginaldo Filho, PhD – General Director of Faculdade EBRAMEC and Coordinator of the Acupuncture Undergraduate Program.
- Prof. Dr. Vanessa Ruotolo – General Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs at Faculdade EBRAMEC.
- Dr. Xie Dong Ming – Special guest from China, Doctor in Chinese Medicine, and Head of Rehabilitation at three hospitals in Guangzhou.
- Prof. Simone Felix – Honored professor for the morning class.
- Prof. Aline Toffoli – Honored professor for the evening class.
- Prof. Dr. Eliane Endo – Patron of the morning class.
- Prof. Fabiana Conte – Patron of the evening class.

Special Tributes Recognizing Dedication and Commitment
The graduation ceremony included special tributes to the graduates, who received recognition from Dr. Alexander da Silveira, President of the National Council for the Self-Regulation of Acupuncture (CNAA), as well as congratulatory letters from the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS). These international organizations, linked to the World Health Organization (WHO), acknowledged the significance of this first officially authorized Acupuncture Undergraduate class.

A Historic Speech by Prof. Dr. Reginaldo Filho
From the beginning of his speech, Prof. Dr. Reginaldo Filho highlighted the historical importance of the moment: “For the first time in history, and you are leaving your name in it, we have a Graduation ceremony in Acupuncture from a course duly authorized by the Ministry of Education of Brazil.“

The General Director of Faculdade EBRAMEC also shared his vision for the future of Acupuncture in Brazil, encouraging the graduates to become agents of transformation in the area of health: “From now on, you are health professionals, you are agents of transformation through a knowledge that has endured for centuries and that remains alive in your hands.“
His speech was marked by a call to action, encouraging the graduates to believe in their potential and make a difference in the world: “May this be just the first of many triumphs. The world needs you, and I am sure that you will make a difference.“
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of gratitude and humility in the journey of the new professionals: “饮水思源 (yǐn shuǐ sī yuán) – When drinking water, remember the source.” With this message from Chinese culture, he encouraged the graduates to never forget their path, those who helped them on their journey, and all who contributed directly or indirectly to their education.

The Graduates’ Voices: Inspiring and Emotional Speeches
The graduation ceremony was marked by inspiring speeches from the graduates. Each one, in their own way, shared experiences, expressed gratitude, and projected visions for the future of Acupuncture in Brazil.
Beatriz Cremasco highlighted the importance of the teachers who guided them on their journey: “Throughout this path, we had the privilege of learning from great masters, highly trained professors, whom we will forever carry in our hearts.“
Wasti Aloise conveyed a message of optimism and hope, encouraging her classmates to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams with determination: “Follow your hearts, believe in yourselves, and don’t be afraid to dream big. The world is waiting for us, and I am sure that each of you will leave a unique and significant mark.“
Gley de Menezes, in an emotional speech addressed to the parents, acknowledged their unconditional support and sacrifice during the academic journey: “If at any point in our journey we smiled, in part, we must thank our parents.“
Poliane Lage paid tribute to those who were part of the promotion’s history but could not be present at the ceremony: “To all those who were part of this dream of the first Acupuncture promotion in the country, and who are not here with us.“
The graduates’ speeches were a celebration of the journey undertaken, a recognition of the support received, and a projection of hope for the future of Acupuncture in Brazil.
